Astrae Oratio is a free-to-play gacha RPG. Everything below comes from the October 2026 closed beta, which had no in-app purchases and wiped all data afterwards — so rates, prices and pity numbers may all change before launch. We flag which details are official and which come from player reports.
Quick summary
- The CBT had two gacha types: the Oratio Gacha (paid with Gacha Coins) and the Vignette Gacha (paid with Starlight Films).
- Vignettes are equipment cards that buff the whole party.
- Rarity tiers seen in footage: SSR, SR, R.
- A pity point system exists according to player reports: pulls earn points you can exchange for a guaranteed reward.
- Doll is not in the gacha — you earn Doll by restoring the Great Shrine.
Oratio Gacha
The official CBT reward notice states that Gacha Coins are used for the Oratio Gacha — the main gacha. Players in the CBT described it as a mixed pool that can give both characters and weapons, closer to Fate/Grand Order or Genshin Impact’s combined banners than to a characters-only system. NC has not published an official breakdown yet.
Earlier gameplay footage (June 2026) showed separate character and artifact banners, so the structure has evidently been iterated on. Expect the launch version to be explained in an official in-game rates page.
Vignette Gacha
The official CBT guidebook describes Vignettes as pieces of equipment that apply beneficial effects to the entire party. They have rarities — the guidebook’s example is an SSR Vignette titled Tokyo, a Public Official, and a Magician.
- Vignettes come from the Vignette Gacha.
- The Vignette Gacha costs Starlight Films.
- Starlight Films are earned mainly from seasonal Score Trials. In the CBT, each completed story chapter also paid out 60.
Because Starlight Films come from content rather than (as far as we know) from purchases, the Vignette Gacha may end up being the more free-to-play-friendly of the two. That is our inference — wait for launch details before planning around it.
Rarity
Footage analyzed by Inven Global showed SSR, SR and R tiers, and the guidebook confirms SSR Vignettes. Which characters are SSR at launch has not been officially announced.
Pity
There is no official pity information yet. A Japanese player write-up from the CBT describes a point system: each pull adds gacha points, which can be exchanged for a guaranteed reward once you have enough — similar to the “spark” system in Blue Archive. The number of points needed has not been confirmed, and CBT values may not survive to launch.
We will add exact rates and pity thresholds as soon as official numbers are published.
Currencies
| Currency | Used for | Where it came from in the CBT | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gacha Coin | Oratio Gacha | 30 per day in login rewards | Official (CBT) |
| Starlight Film | Vignette Gacha | Seasonal Score Trials; 60 per story chapter | Official (CBT) |
| Meteorite | Not officially explained | 1,000 per story chapter | Official name, use unknown |
Free currency in the CBT
The CBT’s two official events handed out, in total:
- 120 Gacha Coins (30 per day over four days of login rewards).
- 2,000 Meteorites and 120 Starlight Films for clearing the Minato and Shinjuku chapters.
These totals were designed for a five-day test and say little about launch generosity.
Rerolling
There is nothing to reroll yet: the game is not out, and CBT accounts were device-locked and wiped. We will publish a reroll guide once the launch build is available — it will live on the codes & reroll page.
FAQ
Can you buy gacha currency? Not in the CBT — in-app purchases were disabled. Launch pricing has not been announced.
Did CBT pulls carry over? No. All CBT data, including characters and currency, was deleted when the test ended.
