Akitsu Akina (秋津明菜) is the self-proclaimed director of the Akina Urban Legend Research Institute. She is voiced by Mineda Mayu (峯田茉優).
Profile
Akina runs a magician clan that hides in plain sight as Okuma High’s film club, “Slash and Flesh”. The institute’s real activity is urban legend hunting: tracking down the rumors that float around the city and catching whatever is behind them. She advertises that the institute is always open for requests.
For the hunts she builds her own magical tools, mixing alchemy with chemistry. The official profile admits these gadgets rarely turn out to be all that useful.
Fighting style
Media coverage of the June 2026 Character PV picked Akina out as the urban legend hunter who throws candy at enemies — Japanese coverage mentions confectionery such as candy tins and ramune bottles serving as her magical implements.
In the October 2026 CBT she carried the Attacker role label. See combat roles.
Story role
The institute headlines the Shinjuku Arc. In the CBT, Shinjuku Arc Chapter 1 was titled The Night of Urban Legend Hunters and the Vanished Magician.
Relationships
